Bookkeeper & Financial Operations Contractor
15–20 hours/month | Hybrid (remote + occasional in-person) | $20–$30/hr

DancEast Collective, a nonprofit dance studio and community arts organization based in East Nashville, is looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized professional to help power the financial backbone of our work. From tuition processing and payroll to financial reporting and grant tracking, this contractor role keeps our programs moving forward and our mission thriving.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online

  • Manage tuition billing, invoicing, and payment processing

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and support staff with payroll inquiries

  • Track and report on grant and donation activity

  • Assist with budgeting, audits, and annual Form 990 prep

  • Recommend ways to improve systems and workflows

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 3+ years of bookkeeping experience (nonprofit experience preferred)

  • Is comfortable with QuickBooks Online and payment platforms

  • Is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive

  • Communicates clearly and enjoys working independently

  • Brings curiosity, creativity, and care to their work
